Camp as a Family

We have been doing Mexico family camps since 1995 and have found that the families that serve together do grow together. With that in mind, we suggest that your family attend our camp as a family.

We are not opposed to you bringing a non-family member, but suggest that you encourage their parents to attend as well. The minimum age for participation in Family Camp is 4 years old by 6/13/09.

House PlansDon’t miss this opportunity to touch the lives of Mexican families through your service, while you impress upon your family the things that matter most to God. You’re building more than a shelter – your family is giving hope.

Mexico Family Camp

Family CampMexico Family Camp is a week of camping, serving, and growing together. Families from across the country meet in San Diego to travel together across the border to the Amor Family Campsite in La Gloria, Mexico.

A tent city serves as your home for the week, where everyone gathers for incredible dinners and evening sessions featuring the Family Camp Worship team and a special speaker. Each day begins with family devotions and a hearty breakfast before boarding buses for the worksites. Family teams of approximately 20 work each day to build homes for needy Mexican families.

Campfires, a talent show, or theme parties top off each day’s activities.

Mexico Family CampEach year, families are deeply touched by the experience of working together, worshiping together, and growing together.

Family Camp is organized by Sherwood Oaks Christian Church in Bloomington, IN and in participation with Amor Ministries in San Diego, CA.

Be prepared for God to stretch you physically, mentally and spiritually.
